His Excellency Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa today joined,Leaders, residents and congregants of Cornerstone Mission Church in Eshibuli, Lurambi Constituency, for a special service marking 30 years since the church was founded.

The event was hosted by the church’s founder and area MP, Hon. Bishop Titus Khamala. Over the years, Cornerstone Mission Church has grown into a beacon of faith and hope, expanding to 40 branches and playing a central role in spiritual growth and community transformation across Kakamega County.

While addressing the faithful, Governor Barasa emphasized the constitutional right of citizens to peaceful protest, but firmly condemned criminal elements who exploit such demonstrations to disrupt public order. “We must protect our democracy, and that means ensuring that those who hide behind peaceful protests to commit crime are held accountable,” said the Governor. His remarks come amid the national conversation on civic freedoms and the rule of law.

The event was also graced by National Assembly Majority Leader Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, President William Ruto’s aide Mr. Farouk Kibet, Members of Parliament, MCAs, senior government officials, members of the clergy, among other leaders. Speakers praised the church for its continued role in empowering communities and promoting values that foster development.
