OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE KAKAMEGA COUNTY SCHOOL BALL GAMES AT ST. PETER’S BOYS, MUMIAS

The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Social Services, Sports, Youth, Gender, and Culture, CPA Jackline Masicha, officially opened this year’s Kakamega County Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) ball games at St. Peter’s Boys High School, Mumias.

In her remarks, the CECM assured the sports fraternity of the County Government’s full support and reaffirmed that H.E. FCPA Governor Fernandes Barasa is committed to ensuring that Bukhungu Stadium will be ready to host this year’s KSSSA National Finals and the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games in August.

She further noted that the County Government of Kakamega, in collaboration with the National Government, is actively preparing to host the 2027 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) at Bukhungu Stadium, which is expected to be fully completed by June 2026.

Present at the event were the Principal Sports Officer for Kakamega County, Mr. Allan Wanga; FKF Kakamega County Chairman, Mr. Geoffrey Mudembei; KSSSA officials; and other key sports stakeholders.
